American Made Since 2005
In 2005, after being downsized from corporate america and with 2 small kids, I decided to take my lifelong interest of art and make a business. I had taken a metal smithing class for my 40th birthday, and designed a bracelet that a local boutique couldn't sell fast enough. I work in mixed metals and semi precious gemstones and found objects, and design 'from my gut'-what speaks to me when I'm looking for ideas. I've come to believe that intuition is one's greatest asset, and have come to rely on it for both design and business. Currently I do all marketing, finances, design, and production alone or with the help of 1 or 2 people. I would love to gain more exposure for my existing business, but also would like to grow into the luxury market, where my simple designs can be made with beautiful, luxurious materials that would make them truly timeless. I would like to be able to turn the construction of my product over to employees so that I can be free to explore design and materials.
What makes your business unique?I really try to make my design effortless and meaningful . Many customers of mine take personal meaning from my work, which brings me deep satisfaction.
What's the best business advice you've received?Don't waste your time working with people/companies that don't share the same business values as you.
