Tell us about your business.

The idea of frozen dog treats came to me one late summer's evening in 2011 when my husband, Jason, and I were still dating. We were sharing a bowl of ice cream and I thought to myself that Jason's two dogs would love to have their own ice cream. After some research, I realized that the frozen dog treat choices in my area were very limited and not what I wanted. The treats I found either had a host of questionable ingredients or didn't come ready frozen. So, I took matters into my own hands and into my own kitchen...where Snuggums Dog Treats, LLC was born! Making my frozen bonbons is a two-step process. First, I make my bonbon mixture, pour it into molds, and place the molds in the freezer. Second, after the mixture is frozen, I remove the bonbons from the molds, and hand dip each one in a carob coating I make myself. I plan to expand by offering more flavors, offering smaller bonbons for small dogs, and working with local dog-friendly retailers to carry my product.

What makes your business stand out?

Snuggums Dog Treats, LLC's mission is to make dogs deliciously happy and we do this by offering dogs unique, one-of-a-kind frozen treats in the form of bite-size bonbons. Our bonbons are made with human-quality natural ingredients with no added sugar or preservatives, offering a healthier treat alternative for dogs. Our bonbons come ready-to-eat, so there is no need to wait for our product to freeze. Unlike other cup-style frozen dog treats, our bonbons are bite-size and don't require constant human supervision, allowing you and your dog to simply enjoy the experience. All of our treats are made by hand, made with love, and only require dogs to do three things: Sit. Stay. Snarf.

What's the best business advice you've received?

The best business advice I have received was from my husband. He essentially told me (and continues to remind me) to not be afraid of success!
