A fresh take on tradition: Scandinavian-inspired textile design for everyday use in the home.

Tell us about your business.

Earning my BFA in Furniture Design, I was always intrigued by how people engaged with their spaces and each other, and with the pieces I created, I sought to influence these interactions. I was interested most in the mundane daily habits and routines we strike up in the home, seeking to draw consideration to these often overlooked rituals. Getting caught up in the fast pace of New York myself, I realized how much of my own day to day was being overlooked. In need of a change, and hoping to get back to what I valued most, we packed up on a whim and moved to Portland, Maine. There I set up studio and began designing textiles inspired by traditions and a lifestyle I experienced traveling, studying and visiting family in Sweden.

What makes your business stand out?

Printed in the US, all fabrics are designed, cut & sewn by me, in the studio. The designs speak to my nostalgia for summers in Sweden; an idyllic and carefree childhood, and my striving for a calm and considered lifestyle. With lilleputt's bright colors and cheerful patterns, I hope to inspire joy and the fostering of traditions in the homes of others.
