Lucky Penny Couture
Tell us about your business.“My inspiration for the brand was fostered by my love of the fashion industry and the environment- two things that don’t often go hand in hand. I had been a vegetarian for nearly a decade when I started conjuring ideas for the brand. I wanted to do something different- I wanted a fashion line with a conscience. Throughout the years, I had such a difficult time finding non-leather accessories that were both quality and fashionable. Most vegan lines were uninspired and miles away from the trendy runway fashions I loved. I knew I needed to merge the two ideas to create something eco-chic thus Lucky Penny Couture was born. I hope that through Lucky Penny you will find that fashion can be artful, chic and eco-minded too.”
What makes your business stand out?We believe strongly that you shouldn't have to risk the environment for your love of fashion. Lucky Penny Couture allows you to blend your style and eco-chic accessories with ease. It is our priority to utilize textiles that have had a previous life, balancing them alongside beautiful, organic and sustainable materials and intricate, hand embellished details. By breathing new life into vintage fabrics we can help address the issue of industry waste, all the while creating one-of-a-kind treasures. Due to the rare nature of the vintage materials, each fabric is limited and you can be assured that your piece is exclusive and never mass produced. Domestic manufacturing has given us the opportunity to control not only the carbon footprint of our product, but also maintain a standard of superior quality. Our line is designed and developed in our studio in Saint Louis, Missouri and manufactured proudly in Chicago, Illinois.
