Tell us about your business.

I left a career in the graphic arts to teach art at my son’s public school, when PTA funding made it possible. It seemed like a crazy move as my pay was more than cut in half, but I just knew that the job excited me. My blog started as a way for me to organize my growing collection of projects, but I soon found that there were a lot of teachers and parents who were searching the web for art inspiration themselves. The positive feedback I continue to get from both near and far, never fails to make my day. The pdf murals came out of my graphics background and the desire to bring group projects to supplement students learning. My goal is to continue to grow my fine art collection, and any other teachings aids as well. My goal is to continue to grow my collection of projects, and add as many tutorials as possible. My readers keep giving me great feedback whenever I do, so that seems to be the direction that I need to go.

What makes your business stand out?

I believe that I have a unique combination of skills – that being an experienced art teacher and a fairly tech savvy graphic artist. I collect all my projects, teach them, document them and post them with the help of past software experience. I even learned how to build my own pdf store when that became necessary. It hasn’t been easy, but I now LOVE knowing that I can change or make just about anything whenever I want.

What's the best business advice you've received?

If there is something that you are looking for (especially on the internet) and you are having trouble finding it, chances are others are too. It could be step one in creating a new business.
