ewe and me yarns

American Made Since 2009

Tara Rodman

Goodyear, Arizona
Offering a bold modern twist rooted in traditional charm to create both hand knit stockings and hand dyed Merino yarns in vibrant candy colors.

Tell us about your business.

Ewe & Me Yarns is an expression of my love for color mixed with a family tradition of knitting. I am a life long artist and when I finally decided to combine my art talents with my knitting Ewe and Me Yarns was born. As a hands on artist the yarns are inspired by my favorite memories and people. Those memories are named and turned into colors. That process can be seen in my Pinterest boards pinterest.com/eweandmeyarns The yarns are the highest quality Merino wool. Because memories should be soft and kind to the touch. Then I hand mix acid dyes in custom colors to make the yarns reflect my inspiration. Part of the reason I dye yarn is so that I can have custom colors for my own knitting. From this process I have developed my own Christmas Stocking pattern and now offer stock and custom made stockings to my customers. Building toward the future I plan to expand my brand by having it carried in retail and boutique shops all over the world.

What makes your business stand out?

I believe that the thought and design behind my products are what make them unique. Each knit stitch has been planned and refined and it shows. Each color and how they mix has been considered and obsessed over until they become the vision in my head.

What's the best business advice you've received?

The best advice I ever received was to....try. The advice came from my mother when I was a very small child and was repeated all my life. As I grew, the mantra became...try, you can do it. She was and is right. It is now my daily mantra. Try. You can do it.
