Leo Kowal & Mary Rudakas
Tell us about your business. In a desperate attempt to free ourselves from the cubicle walls of corporate America, we took to our strengths and redefined paper crafting. In 2009, SVGCuts was born. What started as an Etsy shop (only lasted a weekend before we discovered we had something) that sold two dimensional vector graphics to personal electronic cutting machine aficionados, quickly blossomed into the premier source for off-the-page paper crafts. From paper and pencil (along with some geometry, blood, sweat and tears), we create amazing cards and scrapbook layouts as well as three dimensional paper projects that can be used for gift giving as well as party/home decor. With tens of millions of page views yearly, almost 2 million views on YouTube and 30,000 Facebook fans, the sky is the limit. We'll continue to evolve along with the paper crafts and personal electronic cutting machine industries by providing the highest quality product possible based on the technologies available.
What makes your business stand out? There's nobody else that does what we do at the level we do it at. Our products are an experience!
What's the best business advice you've received?Find a niche and focus on being the best. (From Martha's interview at Google HQ)
