Again & Again Handwovens
Tell us about your business.I have been a production weaver and dyer since 1982. I have a love for natural fibers, especially silk and cotton! I am very practical; I like my towels and garments to be used, so I make them userfriendly: easy to care for, colorfast dyes, and sturdy construction, so they will last the test of time. I stopped weaving for 22 years to raise a family, but never sold my loom, because I knew someday I would return to it. Now that we have an empty nest, I am weaving again, and love it as much as I always have. So Again & Again is the name of my company, and it is the sound the loom makes as I work; it is the theme of weaving itself. The process begins with planning out the warp (lengthwise threads). I vary my towels within a given warp with color changes in the weft (crosswise threads), making towels that compliment each other. Towels are then preshrunk and hemmed. Now ready for sale! I am selling to individual clients and in shops. I am exploring more shops to sell in.
What makes your business stand out?Because I design thread by thread, it is easy to customize my towels for any kitchen. I have found that no matter what the color combination requested, there are always enough other people who find the colors pleasant, making it possible to sell the remaining towels from a run of 20 in a warp. So custom orders are welcome!
