Uncle Jon's Soap began as a family journey to find healthier alternatives to all the harsh chemicals in commercial soap.

Tell us about your business.

Our soap is made with simple ingredients that are good for the skin. We mainly use olive oil, coconut oil, castor oil and sometimes lard (depending on the soap) to make a long lasting, healthy alternative to commercial soaps. Our soap is made using the cold process method, which allows the soap to retain much of the natural glycerin that results from the soap making process. This creates a moisturizing bar that can be used for bathing, face washing, shaving and hair washing. We even use our soap for general household cleaning and washing the dog! Our long term plans include small expansions into more "mom & pop" stores on the East Coast as well as expanding our brand to more healthy skin care products.

What makes your business stand out?

At Uncle Jon's, we believe in supporting the small business person since we are a small business too. Sometimes business can become too big. Too big to provide the kind of service and quality our customers and retailers deserve. We believe that a marriage of quality and customer service are more important than catchy jingles and flashy commercials. After all... What's the best business advice you've received?

We have received so much good advice! But, a couple things stick in my mind... concentrate on quality product and superior customer service and the rest will come. This is what we base our whole business on.
