Wind & Willow Home

American Made Since 2012

Araya Jensen

Minneapolis, Minnesota
Wind & Willow Home is my happy place. Where ancient tools are turned into modern works of functional art. I hope you enjoy them as much as me.

Tell us about your business.

My professional career started with a dream to create beautiful spaces so I headed to the city to pursue a degree in Interior Design. After enjoying a career as a Kitchen & Bath Designer for over 12 years, I was laid off due to the housing market crash. I started creating these simple yet modern housewares as gifts and that is where Wind & Willow Home began. I begin with beautifully turned wooden pieces, slowly hand dipping each in a synthetic rubber that I custom mix. The beauty is in the uniqueness of the natural wood grain and the reaction between that wood and the rubber creating bubble patterns as it reacts to the process. ensuring each item is completely special. I make each colorway or grouping in small seasonal batches ensuring you get a truly special product. Each color or combination is created by first curating a coordinating collection, then mixing each color until I am completely satisfied with the results. From here, I can only hope to enjoy this wonderful ride.

What makes your business stand out?

The uniqueness of my business shines through with each piece of wood that moves through my hands. From the beautiful wood grains themselves to my unique mixes of colors and patterns. Wind & Willow Home is based on taking some of the oldest tools known to man and giving them a completely modern twist. Not only are they updated in their look, the rubber material that I use also improves the function of each piece making them more comfortable to use and easy to work with.

What's the best business advice you've received?

The best advice I have ever received. "If there's a will there's a way." this has been adopted as the Jensen family motto and lives through everything I do. It has yet to fail me.
