American Made Since 2009

Paris Renfroe

Las Vegas, Nevada
We create highly detailed 1:12 scale modern furniture and structures for architecture and commercial design, as well as miniature collectors.

Tell us about your business.

As a furniture designer, I've always enjoyed the model building process when developing prototypes. With the recession, business slowed to a crawl. So I started to create many of my new designs in 1:12 scale and photograph them. In 2010 we launched our online store PRDMiniatures.com. Our client base ranges from architectural and design professionals, design students, and collectors of modern miniatures. We see a current trend of people being overwhelmed with the digital era, so going back to actual models as opposed to expensive 3D computer models and renderings. We're not saying that our prices are cheap, but they are a much more interesting way to learn spacial planning(popular with design students)and an affordable solution to creating full size furniture. We currently have over 250 clients in over 18 countries and in almost all of the 50 US states. As business grows, we are looking into opening up a retail space showcasing both our fullsize and miniature furniture designs.

What makes your business stand out?

We are unique in the fact that we are the only business in the world that creates modern, 1:12 scale furniture and structures including 1:12 shipping container concepts. We can exhibit at Dollhouse shows(we recently exhibited at a Tom Bishop production in Chicago which is the largest dollhouse/miniature show in the world, and attracts the best artisans and collectors from all over the world.) as well as Home and Garden shows and Art Gallery events.

What's the best business advice you've received?

This applies to one's personal life, as well as one's professional life.....'Follow your Passion'
