Tell us about your business.

When my husband was deployed to Iraq in 2008, we discovered that our son, who was just a baby then, had severe allergies and asthma. After he was hospitalized because of his symptoms, I began making all of our household soaps, cleaners, lotions and more. I learned that commercial products contained very unsafe chemicals and synthetic ingredients that were making his symptoms worse. Since then, I have been urged by many to start a business and sell these great things that I had been making for years. Well, I finally heeded their advice and started body dirt! We use only the finest quality all-natural ingredients that we acquire from local sources to support the local economy. Everything I sell is a recipe that I have designed and crafted myself which I also use myself, or use on my family members and pets! Body dirt is committed to bringing high quality, handmade cosmetic and skincare alternatives to the entire family.

What makes your business stand out?

Body dirt is a small mom-run company that creates each item in a small batch to ensure high quality and shelf life as we add no preservatives of any kind. We take pride in our offerings and hope they can enhance someone's life, the way they have ours.

What's the best business advice you've received?

Do what you love, and love what you do.
