Our Brewing Company

American Made Since 2012

Trevor Doublestein & Lisa Doublestein & Dane Sexton & Brynn Sexton

Holland, Michigan
Brewing: Small batches, mad scientists, and neighbors on every stool.
Food,

Tell us about your business.

Created by two couples who wanted more passion, more creativity, and more beer at work, Our Brewing Company is a nano-brewery on Michigan's west shore. We craft small batches of complex beer using local ingredients; we embrace trivia and games of all sorts; we welcome musicians who sing as hard as we brew. And because we're jumping into this mid-life career with nothing but good work and good intentions, we're grateful to get such good lovin' from our patrons and from the community in which we brew. We're looking ahead to bigger things: A bigger brewhouse with more employees, distribution throughout Michigan and the Chicago area, and rustic edibles from a simple kitchen.

What makes your business stand out?

There's something special about choosing a career based on love. When their family suffered a loss, Trevor and Lisa Doublestein sought a new start that would show their daughters a life lived with passion. Their friends, Dane and Brynn Sexton, were feeling a similar pull - more of the great, both at home and at work. The couples got together and talked about life's good things, and recognized that building a small, special nano-brewery felt just about right to them. Open since November 2012, Our Brewing Company gives out nothing but love and the very best beer.

What's the best business advice you've received?

Location, location, location. Our Brewing Company is located in Downtown Holland, Michigan. It's by design - it's where we wanted our kids to grow up, and it's where we wanted our beer to begin. It's not just the local ingredients - those we file into the "crazy lucky" column of our ledger. It's actually all about the community. The people here believe in hard work and good fun. We were embraced, adopted, and believed in. There's nothing like it.
