American Made Since 2011

Amy Richardson

Brooklyn, New York
Modern and hip baby clothing and gifts, made from USA-milled fabrics, printed and sewn locally.
Crafts,

Tell us about your business.

In 2011, desperate for simple, unique and bright baby boy clothing, I began creating items for my son, and eventually turned to Etsy to sell my wares -- which took off quickly to a full-fledged brand. I was able to quit my job within 9 months of starting, and run LHS full time. We have continued to grow extensively over the past year and one of our biggest long term goals is to open a kids clothing shop slash ice cream parlor storefront, with a kids art/cooking activity space in back. In the immediate future, we are looking to expand our space out of my home-based studio and rent a large warehouse in Brooklyn where we can add more positions to our operations staff, add to our design team, and work on a much larger scale with our retail carriers.

What makes your business stand out?

We design all our own fabrics, have everything printed and sewn in the USA, and have an amazing social media following that has kept us really thriving.

What's the best business advice you've received?

'If you work really hard, and are kind, amazing things will happen'
