Tell us about your business.

Dawn Lombard, of Lavender Dawn, is a glass artist who is fascinated by the combination of creativity and scientific complexity of working with glass. She strives to differentiate herself by creating earthy and organic style lampwork beads in her Monroe, Connecticut studio. She has written multiple tutorials for the UK magazine Making Jewellery, was featured in the books 1000 Jewelry Creations, Creative Lampwork and Creative Glass Beads, was a featured glass artist in 'The Beading Times,' and won first place in Delphi's 'Art Glass Festival' in 2011. She sells her jewelry online (www.LavenderDawn.Etsy.com), at Voila Gallery in Wickford Village, RI, and participates in many art shows throughout New England (including the Brookfield Craft Center’s holiday show, Guilford Art Center’s ‘Artistry,’ and Milford’s ‘Meet the Artists & Artisans’).

What makes your business stand out?

There are very few glass artisans who have expertise in the area of torchworking. I am proud to keep this age-old technique alive. No two of my beads ever look the same making them true works of art.
