Specialty Wood Designs

American Made Since 2011

Michael Sansevieri

Charlotte, North Carolina
I started my business after losing my job in 2010. Woodworking has always been my passion and now it is the means with which I support myself.

Tell us about your business.

Unique wood products with all designs inspired by myself or my client base. Since I have a strong back ground in cooking (Fire house station chef), many of the products I make are kitchen-inspired. This business started out very small and has since taken on a life of its own. My products are now being sold throughout the USA and into Canada. I have a listing of the products I make, but look forward to creating that custom design for the client.

What makes your business stand out?

I bring to life the beauty of the wood in a functional product people can use. I have a basic product listing, but encourage the client to add a touch of their own. It is this custom design that sets me and Specialty Wood Designs apart from the main stream. I also use mostly domestic wood products in an effort to support businesses locally.

What's the best business advice you've received?

I have been given a gift. To create things. Take that God-given gift and make it your business. Then, when things are down, keep going! Never give up on your dream.
