Tell us about your business.I'm Mackenzie O'Kelley, I'm a 17 year old in Brighton, TN, and am the owner and operator of my own business, MackenzieMADE. My mom taught to crochet when I was about 3, along with many other crafts along the way. It was in the early months of 2012 when I took a leap of faith and turned this hobby into a full time business by request of family and friends. I am now shipping around the country and Canada, too! I primarily sell online, although I do lots of local festivals and markets. Most of my items are crochet, but I also offer hair bows, tutu dresses, blankets, and more.
What makes your business stand out?MackenzieMADE is unique because I am only 17 years old. My items are all designed by me without the use of any patterns. I am constantly coming out with fresh new ideas and custom orders are my specialty! I donate to many church organizations, fundraising events, and most recently was involved in an auction to benefit the people affected by the Oklahoma tornadoes.
What's the best business advice you've received? That the sky is the limit, never give up, and never stop doing what you love.
