Tell us about your business.

Vinylux began as a student project at RISD. Jeff Davis was studying product design and focused on reusing obsolete materials. Beginning in 2002 with molded record bowls, Jeff continues to design and innovate with repurposed records. Over the years we have created clocks, coasters, mirrors, bookends, jewelry, puzzles, picture frames and more. Developing Vinylux into a full-time business has been an exciting challenge - Vinylux continues to evolve by appealing to people who love music, design, nostalgia, and have an affinity for vinyl records. We respond to the ideas and design trends we see around us, while attempting to make innovative, fun, unique items.

What makes your business stand out?

Vinylux is unique in the way we operate, and the products we create. We design in-house, manufacture in-house, and source our records and packaging locally. Vinylux is committed to working within our community, establishing relationships that keep our company agile, while helping to support the local economy. We purchase all US made components, boxes, clock motors, & hardware. Keeping our company small and efficient has allowed Vinylux to grow at a manageable pace, and afforded us a calm and civil work environment.
