Tell us about your business.

Eclectic Star started as a hobby in late 2011,I would create beaded leather accessories & would give them to my friends & family as gifts. When word got out & demand became high I took the "leap of faith" & turned my passion into a full time business in February 2012.Everything I create is inspired by the bohemian & street wear styles & made with the best eco-friendly products.I consider Eclectic Star to be a creative outlet for the free-spirited,the believers & the do-ers. My creative process begins with music & pen and paper.I sketch and write out ideas then go through a trial and error type process with actual materials until I am happy with a solid design.I see Eclectic Star evolving into a world known handmade accessory brand and introducing eco-friendly apparel.I also see Eclectic Star evolving into wholesale by allowing local boutiques to carry my products and eventually opening up my own boutique where customers can shop and watch me create.

What makes your business stand out?

Our tagline is "crafted in the south" and I try to stay true to that by only purchasing materials from the southern part of the United States and from other local small businesses. Eclectic Star is also a one woman show.I design, test and create all of the accessories by hand.I package and ship all while handling the marketing and financial side of the business.

What's the best business advice you've received?

Have faith in what you love and trust your gut, no one will ever support you like you support yourself.
