TYPOGRFX is custom-designed word art featuring your words and colors to tell a story that is Yours Truly.

Tell us about your business.

In 2008, I was commissioned to create a custom design featuring words about a local city. Once I created that design, I realized that I could create similar designs using any set of words. Customers provide me with their list of words, choice of color and style, and I create the design, which is then produced as a print, canvas, metal print or blanket (all made in the USA). To date, I have created more than 800 custom designs for customers all over the US, Canada and Australia. Earlier this year, I created TYPOGRFX pARTy, where hostesses can earn credit towards their purchase by hosting a pARTy to showcase the artwork. In September, I will be launching the TYPOGRFX pARTner program, which will allow people to earn commission by promoting the artwork. My dream is to continue to grow my business to the point of being able to create several new jobs. I also would like to expand my product offerings to include other formats, like plaques and vinyl wall graphics.

What makes your business stand out?

I feel truly blessed to be able to help people tell their stories in artwork form. It’s like I get to know each customer through the words they choose for their piece. Some of the most memorable pieces have included a gentleman who proposed to his longtime girlfriend with a “Will you marry me?” TYPOGRFX and a terminally-ill woman who wanted to leave behind words of wisdom for her young children. On the business side, I take great pride in proving my customers with one-on-one personal service and with quality products made in the US. Most of my business comes from direct referrals of happy customers, which I am truly grateful for!

What's the best business advice you've received?

"All the things I love is what my business is all about." by Martha Stewart That is my favorite quote and business motto. (In fact, it is prominently displayed on my office wall 2'x4'!) This motto is the very basis of my business. I am so blessed to be doing something I love and am passionate about, while being able to earn a living and spend quality time with my family. I believe that is truly the best business advice any one could receive!
