Tell us about your business.

I love the design process and being immersed in creating a piece that is simply an idea that you bring to life. Knitting and crochet are my passion! After learning to crochet at ten years old and loving it, I taught myself to knit. Knit cables intrigue me, hence the desire to knit. Mixing knit textures and varying fiber weights make my designs unusual. cedesigns & Yarn Shoppe is my brick and mortar business in Bismarck, ND. cedesigns carries my exclusive hand knit and crocheted designs and natural fiber yarns. I teach a variety of classes and enjoy watching my students find peace, pride and their talent while working on projects. I have been designing for many years and writing patterns for merely three. Wedding gowns, dresses, shawls, skirts, ponchos, shorts, scarves, sweaters, handbags, wraps, etc. compose my knitwear. My designs have been published in Knitsimple Magazine, the 2012 Knitting Calendar, 2013 Knitting Calendar, and the upcoming Noro 123 book.

What makes your business stand out?

cedesigns & Yarn Shoppe is a unique boutique of exclusive designs by Cheri Esper. Every hand knit and crocheted piece in the shop is based on a simple idea that has come to fruition. My designs are original and have a unique aesthetic because I do not spend a lot of time on social media looking at other designs. I believe this allows me to create fresh and new looks. Providing exclusive hand knit and crochet designs is my goal. cedesigns patrons can be confident that no one else will be wearing the same dress, shawl, handbag, etc. when they attend their next social gathering. I teach weekly knitting and crochet classes that are based on my own designs. My shop is small and I have contact with every person walking through the front door. The daily shop interaction inspires me! New designs are always in the works. I am living my dream, as I continue to build my business by designing, submitting patterns, creating new pieces for the shop, and teaching. I feel blessed!
