American Made Since 2003
Founded in 2003 in Park City, Utah, Cade&Co's unique and original shoes are made individually, with hand-cut, ultra-supple leather. The soft suede soles help babies and new walkers feel contact with the ground while still protecting their feet. The style of shoe is recommended by pediatricians for babies learning to walk. The slip-on, stay-on design works well with or without socks. Each shoe is lined with all-natural leather, making them breathable and comfortable in all seasons. Styles are available in five sizes and fit children up to three years of age. Cade&Co welcomes special orders, including customizable designs, colors and special sizing for hard to fit feet. The goal of the company's founder is to grow the business into a lifestyle brand while maintaining its distinction as an American, handcrafted, artisan producer.
What makes your business unique?I started Cade&Co because I wanted a higher quality, better-designed and creatively styled shoe for my child. Being an advid runner, I spent many hours looking at my son's feet poking out from the baby jogger. He needed some protection—more than socks—for his toes. And they needed to stay-on. The soft-soled shoes I did find for him lacked the quality and creativity that I wanted, so I designed and made my own. Cade&Co shoes are unique not only because of their style, but also their quality. Since they don't use man-made materials found in commercially manufactured brands, they form naturally to babies' feet. The quality of leather I use allows for more breathability, keeping babies' feet cool in summer and warm in winter.
What's the best business advice you've received? The best business advice I received was to "aim high." I do not want to compete with low-quality, commercial brands that are easy to find in big-box retailers. Although others have been tempted to lower standards, I was advised not to. It was the best advice I received. Since then, I have stayed true to my art and have created the most unique, highest-quality product I can.
