Tell us about your business.Sewing one-of-a-kind art for your children is my passion. Three small boys of my own are my inspiration. When I was unable to find a beautiful, handmade hobby horse (stick pony) for my toddler, I made my own. Realizing there was a market gap, I made 8 more, painstakingly, completely by hand. I posted them to a quickly made etsy shop and sold out in just hours. I love what I do, love what I make, love the reactions children have when her new pony gallops from my sewing paddock to her side. I intend to continue sewing children's toys and art for a very, very long time. This is my passion and my creative outlet. I love the people I've met, the clients I work with, the children for whom I create.
What makes your business stand out?Whenever practical, upcycled fabrics, ribbon, trimmings, yarns, etc. are used. I am proud that fewer beautiful, useful crafting materials fill the landfills of Southern California due to these creations.
What's the best business advice you've received?Create for the children and the parents will also be happy.
