Tell us about your business. It was our love of knitting that was the inspiration behind Big Loop yarn and knitted products. With Big Loop even an absolute beginner can knit a blanket in a matter of only a few hours. Knitting kits that include yarn, needles and pattern are also available. All of knitted garments and home products are designed and hand made in our New York studio. Growing up in Korea and Russia Anna and I couldn't even dream that we would end up settling down in America and developing our own yarn and hand knit products. We both feel very fortunate to have found a mission, a job and a passion here in America. We are truly living an American dream. In this country we are given an equal chance to create our own destiny and to make our dreams come true. All we need is unique ideas, spirit, hard work and determination and we have plenty of all of the above.
What makes your business stand out?Knitting and crocheting are simple techniques that have been passed from generation to generation. No matter what language you speak, no mater what country you come from it is a universal skill that daughters learn from their mothers and sons learn from their fathers. Like many other crafts knitting and crocheting tend to be forgotten by new generation. Our mission is to bring it back to the spotlight by the means of our Big Loop yarn and big knitting needles and crochet hooks. With these tools we make it accessible to anyone even a complete novice and enable people to create beautiful hand knit pieces with minimum amount of effort and skill. We have developed simple yet sophisticated patterns that appeal equally to beginner and advanced knitter. We hear comments from our customers such as "I can't believe I made this all by myself" and "I have been searching for yarn like this for years". We are thrilled to be a part of their experience.
