Brynn Capella Inc.
Tell us about your business. You can take the girl out of California, but you can't take California out of the girl. Laid-back So Cal native, Brynn Capella, turned the Windy City into her home nine years ago, but it is easy to see where much of her inspiration comes from. When Brynn turned her "in-between jobs" hobby into a business, she let fate take the wheel. It brought her here, to her parent's hometown of Chicago, where she creates handbags with the perfect mix of her relaxed coastal upbringing and her urban Chicago lifestyle. The result is handbags that work as well with broken-in jeans and flip-flops as they do with a classic LBD. Brynn has embraced this passion for the Chicago city life that has become as much a home to her as the California beaches. Her philosophy that less will always be more is the base of her collection. Brynn also doesn't believe in cutting corners or mass-production. As an American Designer, Brynn feels strongly about manufacturing locally to enable standards.
What makes your business stand out?All of Brynn's handbags are made with the finest Italian leathers to ensure quality and style. All aspects of the creation of the bags are based in Chicago, allowing Brynn to maintain a high customer service to her loyal customers. Brynn Capella is a very personal brand. All of the bags are named after Brynn's family, friends, and even her pets. Each bag represents its own personality, originated from the individual for inspiration. Also our bestselling bag, Lauren, is unique from other bags on the market. It can be worn six ways: over the shoulder, cross-body, fold-over cross-body, fold-over-over the shoulder, half-up-half down, and as an oversized clutch!
What's the best business advice you've received?Throughout the course of developing her business, Brynn has learned from others to always go with your gut and don't be afraid to make mistakes. Sometimes those moments can create the best results. Also her everyday motto is "work smarter, not harder." This will help you benefit in the long run.
