Nominations 101

2014 Martha Stewart American Made Awards

Are you an American maker? This is your chance to be recognized as one of our 2014 Award Winners. Martha, her panel of judges, and the American Made community are selecting the next generation of American Made entrepreneurs: those who are creating beautiful, inspiring, useful products; pioneering new industries; improving local communities; and changing the way we eat, shop, work, and live.

Competition

From all the published nominees, 1,000 finalists will be selected to compete for the American Made Awards across the categories of crafts, design, food, and style. Of these finalists, 800 will be handpicked by our panel of esteemed judges. But that's not your only chance to be a finalist--activate your social network on Facebook and Twitter to earn one of the remaining 200 wild-card spots. From the entire pool of finalists, 10 Award Winners will be named: nine by the judges and one by our audience.

Judges

The executive editorial team of Martha Stewart Living will serve as category judges and oversee the selection process. Martha serves as head judge and makes the final picks. The judges’ criteria will be based on innovativeness, creativity, originality, workmanship, overall aesthetic, and embodiment of the American Made theme.

Grand Prize

For each of the 10 American Made Award Winners: a trip for two to New York City to attend the American Made event; a spot in our American Made Market; $10,000 to grow your business; a video produced by our in-house team; and an opportunity to be featured in Martha Stewart Living, on SiriusXM radio, and MarthaStewart.com.

Who Should Apply

Creative entrepreneurs in the areas of crafts, design, food, and style with distinctive, innovative, and beautiful products, proudly made and manufactured in America.

What You'll Need

Tell us your maker story through images and words. We encourage you to include video, photos, and website links. The judges want to get to know you, so the more information, the better. In addition, you’ll be asked to provide background on your business and insights to share with other makers.
