This was amazing!!!! Cant wait for my husband to try it since he's a strawberry banana fanatic. I used Activia vanilla yogurt thats 100 calories and the oats are 150 for 1/2 cup and for the liquid i freshly squeezed an orange that gave me a 1/2 cup so the other 1/2 cup of the liquid was just water ! so mine was give or take 250 calories I don't know how people got over 500 calories? Perfect breakfast smoothie.
Just wondering if it can be made the night before and put in the fridge? I hate waking others in the house with the blender!
This was delicious! I added this to my WW Recipe Builder and came up with 12 points total or 6 points per serving. Either way it's a perfectly respectable breakfast. I used nonfat, plain greek yogurt for protein and unsweetened almond milk for the liquid. I will try modifiying the fruit or maybe adding peanut butter for tomorrow's creation. This recipe is versatile and I'm so happy to have found it! Thank you!
My kids and I all loved this! They think they're getting a shake, and I love that they're getting fruit, healthy grains, and dairy in one drink. As far as the calories, when I figured it out, dividing it into 4 servings (since it says it serves 2-4) I only got 127 calories per serving, although I did make some changes (such as omitting the honey because I only had vanilla yogurt, which is already sweetened). I'll definitely make these again!
An entire recipe is 500 calories, but a serving (half the recipe) is only 250 calories. That is very reasonable for a light breakfast.
I don't think a calorie count like that is outrageous. It's nutrient dense, and it's not offered as a diet beverage. I think it's a delicious shake.
Im not sure if anyone else ran the calories on this recipe but I left out the honey and used non fat yogurt and cut the fluid in half and still ended up with over 500 calories! I was very disappointed.
This may be a silly question - do the oats have to be cooked or can I put the uncooked oats in the smoothie?
Made it this morning! Very yummy

Seems cute for my daughters to have when they're going to school
Oatmeal also has 7 grams per serving.
Most low fat yoghurt is also made with Splenda or aspartame, thus low sugar.
So 1/2 cup of LF yoghurt is 6 grams of protein and 1/2 cup of oatmeal is ~4; the smooth has at least 10 grams of protein.

Very tasty! I only used 1/2 a banana to reduce sugar, and used plain low-fat Greek yogurt for a little bit of protein, but I stayed full all day :) My body type doesn't require very much protein, but for those that need more you can add protein powder (I personally don't like the taste) or almond butter.
I'm sorry, but where is the protein? It's pretty much just all sugar which equates to simple carbohydrates. Low-fat anything does not mean low sugar, honey!
love
This was a good smoothie. I'm not big on banana flavor so I used only 1/2 a banana (frozen from freezer) and a small container of greek yogurt (5.6oz). It turned out really good. The juice I used was the V8 fusion juice that is low in calories. Will definitely make again.
Angel, this would be a great thing to start with in the morning, but by no means, it's not going to make you lose weight. That will happen with a balanced, whole foods diet, and exercise....but i think these are great to drink in the morning.
I think I'm going to try...just wondering if anyone did lose any weight drinking it...

Love this recipe. I use frozen strawberries instead of raspberries and skip the ice. To the person asking about bananas, you can certainly skip the bananas and perhaps up the berry of choice by another 1/2 cup. I've done it with 1 cup strawberries when I didn't have any bananas.
Yummy

...only adjustment...was that I put the [OM] through my coffee grinder, ... it made a great difference in the texture of the smoothie... it is much smoother."
Sounds good for "mouth feel" aspect. Only draw back is ANY processing makes it more like a simple sugar--more quickly digested, giving a glucose spike--instead of being digested over longer period of time (ie,stick 2 Ur ribs feeling) I dont buy quick-OM 4 that reason. I Will TRY2 LEARN2 appreciate it as Is 1st
Did my best to convert this recipe for WW, got 7-8 pts. for 2 servings.
Why is it called "Lauren Conrads 7-Day to Skinny Jeans" smoothie?
I used milk instead of a juice and it turned out fine. It tasted like a banana oatmeal shake really.
This sounds so yummy I really want to try it, but has anyone tried it without the banana? I am allergic to them and was wondering if I could substitute something else?
Hey Jamie!
I tried it with Cranberry juice this morning and it was wonderful!
Has anybody tried a different liquid like cranberry juice? if so, please let me now how it went :)
Does anyone know the ww points?
This is truly delicious, the only adjustment I made for my taste was that I put the oatmeal through my coffee grinder, (cleaned it very well before I did this), and it made a great difference in the texture of the smoothie, I think you will find that it is much smoother.
Diane, quick oats are made to absorb liquid more rapidly and would probably change the texture of the smoothie. I haven't made it this way, but found this when using quick oats in other recipes.
Q: Is there any reason why I should not use Quick Oats?
I can not wait to try this tomorrow. Now I just need to add my Body By Vi Protein Powder and I will have a healthy and delicious protein shake to start the day out right! Do you taste the coconut?
It tastes yummy. We are having this for our breakfast right now.
I never have coconut water and I just happened to have one in the fridge today , so I made this for breakfast! It was soooo YUMMY! Thanks for the inspiration Martha!
This sounds healthy, yummy and quick to make!
