Crafts editor Marcie McGoldrick created these inexpensive upgrades to give her holiday table a little shimmer. All of them look great in any shade of metallic.

Transform any smooth stone with imitation gold leaf. Arrange clusters of them around the table as a centerpiece alternative.

Embellish store-bought metallic napkins with one of your sewing machine's programmed embroidery stitches.

Cover evergreen sprigs with metallic spray paint for chic napkin rings. When they're dry, lay the sprig on top of a rolled napkin, and tie off with ribbon.

As with the stitched napkins, use your sewing machine to create place cards with an embellished edge. Trim metallic paper to desired place-card size, and then run cards individually through the machine.

Emboss guests' names into sheets of soft copper, and stick them onto blocks of painted wood.

Gather some twigs, cover them with imitation gold leaf, and prop name cards against them.

Cover painted wooden squares with thin sheets of copper.

Anchor gold candles in shot glasses (with Stick-Um candle adhesive), and place them in hurricane lanterns. Then line the length of a table with them.

Coat inexpensive brass candlesticks with metallic spray paints.
