The Makers Series: Alisa Toninato

The American tradition of making things by hand predates the Pilgrims. Martha herself is a pioneer of the modern make-it-yourself movement, and the first Martha Stewart American Made Awards honor this legacy of craft by celebrating rising U.S. artisans, such as Wisconsin's Alisa Toninato, who makes cast-iron skillets in the shape of the states.

Watch a video of Alisa discussing her work.
