Halloween Fun House Sign

Martha Stewart Living, October 2012

Create a glowing "Fun House" sign from our clip art. Replace lightbulbs around the house with red and blue ones for a moody atmosphere -- and an even more circuslike setting.

Tools and Materials

Spray adhesive
1/2-inch-thick black foam board
Box cutter
Drill fitted with 3/4-inch bit
Globe lights
2 screw eyes (1 1/16 inches)
Black chain

  1. Have clip art printed at a copy center, or print it yourself and tile it. Using spray adhesive, mount clip art to foam board.
  2. Use box cutter and a ruler to cut into sign shape. Drill holes for lights.
  3. Remove bulbs from lights. Feed sockets through back of sign, and reattach bulbs. Tape excess cord to back of sign.
  4. Apply glue to threads of screw eyes; screw into top of sign (3 inches from sides). Hang sign from 2 pieces of chain (from hooks in ceiling or wall).
