1. How can I skip the introduction?

You can skip the introductory animation at any time by tapping on the screen.

2. When I first opened the app, I accidentally skipped the introductory tutorial video.
How can I view it again?

You can watch the video again by tapping the Help button in the top right corner of the screen and tap “Tutorial.”

3. Why don’t I have sound on the app?

Your iPad sound preference could be muted. You can check this in your iPad Settings under General. The side switch on your iPad can be used to either mute audio or lock the screen rotation. Please note that some apps (such as YouTube and Pandora) may override this mute function, but CraftStudio should adhere to whichever setting you select. If “Lock Rotation” is selected and you do not wish to change this setting, you can control your iPad’s mute function by pressing the circular home button on your iPad twice in rapid succession to bring up the multitasking dock. With one finger, slide the dock to the left to reveal multitasking controls; on the left, you will see a speaker button where you can turn on/off the mute function.

Another step to try is closing all background apps by first pressing the circular home button on your iPad twice in rapid succession to reveal the recently launched apps. Tap and hold one of them until you see the red minus sign in the upper left hand corner. Tap each of those red badges to close each of the apps. This cleanly releases all memory, and provides a stable platform from which to reopen the app. This process does not delete those apps from your device.

CraftStudio art board tools come pre-loaded with sound effects, but these will not be heard on the first generation iPad due to memory and processing limitations. All videos have audio on each generation of iPad.

4. How do I purchase more CraftStudio themes?

Tap the theme drawer in the bottom left corner of the screen. This will open to reveal all themes available in the app. Themes available for purchase will have a red “buy” ribbon attached to the thumbnail. Tap the theme you wish to purchase. A popover will appear describing what is included with purchase. Tap the red button listing the price of the theme, confirm your purchase, and if prompted, enter your Apple ID and password. The theme should commence downloading with a progress bar. When it’s ready for use, a notification will appear.

5. How can I mix and match objects from different themes?

While creating a craft, you’re not limited to only one theme. If you want to mix and match stickers, stamps, punches and more from different themes in one craft, simply tap on the theme drawer in the bottom left corner of the screen and select a different theme. This will change the items in the tool drawer to reflect the new theme. You can also switch themes when a specific tool drawer is open. For example, if you were using stickers from the Everyday theme but wanted to see what stickers are in Birthday, simply select the Birthday theme, and the stickers will automatically change.

6. How can I share crafts with my friends and family?

From the Gallery, select the craft you wish to share. Via the “Share” button on the left, you can select Email, Facebook, or Twitter. You can also save your craft to your photo library on your iPad. In order to share, you must have an internet connection.

You can also upload your craft to Snapfish by tapping the Snapfish icon. Login to your Snapfish account or create a new account. Once you’ve uploaded your craft, you can access Snapfish from your desktop or laptop computer to professionally print and share with your Snapfish community. To see more, go to snapfish.com/marthastewart.

7. How can I print my craft?

You can print your craft using an AirPrint enabled printer. From the Gallery, select the craft you wish to print. Tap the print icon to the left of the craft. A menu will appear next to the Print button for you to select a wirelessly connected printer. (If you don’t see your printer, check to ensure that your iPad and printer are connected to the same wifi network.) Select a printer and the number of copies you would like, then tap Print in the menu. To see which printers are compatible with AirPrint, check here.

8. How can I restore my purchases?

For users with iOS 5:
Go to iPad Settings, scroll down and tap on CraftStudio on the left. This should give you an option to restore previous purchases the next time the app launches. When this is turned on, you should get a popup message the next time you open the app that says you have downloads pending, and your themes should download in the background (you won't see a download progress bar on those themes). When they're finished downloading, you'll get another message that says they're ready to use.

For users with iOS 6:
You can restore your purchases from within CraftStudio. First, make sure you are signed into the App Store with the same Apple ID used to download CraftStudio. Next, from the artboard, tap the Themes button in the lower left corner to open the themes drawer. Next, scroll the themes drawer sideways to find the Restore All Purchases button to the right. Tap the Restore button, input your login and password, and all themes you have purchased should restore. Please note any theme you downloaded for free will not restore and must be downloaded again.

For all users:
You can re-purchase each theme for free as long as you use the same Apple ID as the original purchase. You should get a message that says you've already purchased this theme, but it hasn't been downloaded yet, at which point you can download for free.

9. Why can’t I access my photos?

This is in regards to you denying the request for CraftStudio to use your personal photos. This is a security feature with iOS 6 where any app that allows users to use personal photos in the app must ask the user to grant access.

You can allow access by going to iPad Settings, tap General on the left, then scroll down and tap on "Privacy" then tap on Photos. You should see CraftStudio listed - change this setting to "On." This will allow CraftStudio to interact with your iPad photo library.

10. How do I download photos from my Snapfish account to use in my crafts?

First, you must be using CraftStudio version 1.5. If you don’t have CraftStudio version 1.5, you can update via the App Store on your device.

To download photos from your Snapfish account, tap the Camera icon on the artboard and select Snapfish from the drop-down menu. Next, tap the Log In button, and you will be taken to Safari to log into your account. Upon successful login, you will be taken back to CraftStudio. Select and album, then a photo to use, and it should download to your craft (for slow internet connections, this may take a few seconds). You will be automatically logged out 12 hours after logging in, after which point you will need to log in again.

11. How do I upload finished crafts to my Snapfish account?

For users on CraftStudio version 1.4 or earlier:
Select the craft from your Gallery you wish to upload, then tap the Snapfish button. You will be prompted to log in to your account. Input your login credentials and tap Upload. Your craft will be uploaded to an album on your Snapfish account titled “CraftStudio.” To create and order projects or prints from Snapfish, please log in to your account from a computer with a Flash-enabled browser.

For users with CraftStudio 1.5:
Select the craft from your Gallery you wish to upload, then tap the Snapfish button. You will be prompted to log in to your account. Next, tap the Log In button, and you will be taken to Safari to log into your account. Upon successful login, you will be taken back to CraftStudio. You will be automatically logged out 12 hours after logging in, after which point you will need to log in again. Tap Upload from the Snapfish popover. Your craft will be uploaded to an album on your Snapfish account titled “CraftStudio.” To create and order projects or prints from Snapfish, please log in to your account from a computer with a Flash-enabled browser.
