Personalized Coasters

Embellished cork coasters are a personal, practical hostess gift, protecting tables from guests' frosty glasses. 

Materials

  • Cork coasters
  • Masking tape
  • Vinyl letters
  • Stencil brush
  • Craft paint
  • Ribbon

Steps

  1. Step 1

    Create stripes with masking tape and initials with vinyl letters. 

  2. Step 2

    With a stencil brush, apply craft paint; let it dry; then remove tape or letter.

  3. Step 3

    Tie together with ribbon, and give with a bottle of booze.

    I made these and here are a few things I learned along the way...
    1. It REALLY helps if you use Mod Podge on the cork prior to painting. This helps fill in the little groves and makes the paint go on much more smoothly and consistently.
    2. Make sure to press the tape and the letters down VERY well or else end up with smeary lines
    3. Takes 2 or more layers of paint
    4. Seal with more Mod Podge
