Pumpkin-Top Invitations

On the outside, pumpkin invites bear a greeting; pull up on the pumpkin top to reveal the party details.

  1. Step 1

To make invitations, color-photocopy clip art (pumpkin top and pumpkin bottom) onto matte heavyweight paper.

  2. Step 2

Using a bone folder, score center of pumpkin shape along dotted line; fold in half.

  3. Step 3

Cut out pumpkin. Use a craft knife to cut along the sides of the insert (a straightedge will help make perfectly straight cuts). Score along dotted line, and fold in half.

  4. Step 4

Secure halves together using an adhesive dispenser or glue stick. Cut out top edge.

  5. Step 5

Place insert on open pumpkin, aligning top. Trace insert with a pencil.

  6. Step 6

Apply adhesive around outline, about 1/4 inch from pencil mark; close pumpkin.

  7. Step 7

Write invitation details on pumpkin insert.

I loved this invitation template the first time I saw it in the Martha Steward Halloween magazine years ago and I finally get to use it this year for our parties! I'm super excited and so far my friends love it!
