- 2 matching towels
- 1/2-inch-thick polyester batting
- Large sewing needle
- Embroidery floss

1. Cut 2 pieces of batting 1 inch shorter and 1 inch narrower than towels.
2. Insert the 2 layers of batting into open end of towels, and sew up the last side.
3. Stitch tufts in towels 6 to 8 inches apart: Using large sewing needle and a double strand of embroidery floss, stitch down through all layers and then back up about 1/8 inch from entry point. Trim floss, and tie ends. Repeat to make additional tufts.
When I was younger, I loved to travel alone because it forced me to interact with strangers and I got to know more about their country and culture this way. Now I went on a vacation trip to the beautiful French gite near Paris with my family and also, our dog. In order to make sure he wouldn't feel frightened by the new surroundings, we also brought with us his travel blanket. It's the blanket he usually sleeps on at home and he feels it familiar.
This is a great idea. I have a new kitten, and want him to get use to traveling. I am also going to gather older, gently used towels and make them for the animal hospital that I take my cats to.
