Our favorite multitasker is serious about her skin care. While products are crucial (these have all won a coveted spot near her sink), it's just as much about process -- and discipline.
Martha gets up at 5 a.m. to put on a facial mask for 30 minutes; she alternates between Yonka Gommage 305 ($42, dermstore.com) ...
Then she jumps into a hot shower for seven minutes. The steam removes the mask. From the neck down, she uses Chanel Fresh Brightening Foam Cleanser ($60, chanel.com) ...
Next Martha tones: first in the form of a 20-second blast of cold water at the end of her shower and then with Mario Badescu Facial Spray ($7, mariobadescu.com) ...
Martha loves serums, and she gets creative with them, layering any two of these three: SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic ($146, skinceuticals.com) ...
Why apply a product before you need it? Martha doesn't add sunscreen until she's about to go outside. Her choice, SkinCeuticals Physical Fusion UV Defense SPF 50 ($32, skinceuticals.com), is lightweight and has a tint that flatters nearly every skin shade.
If her skin is feeling parched, Martha uses Cle de Peau Beaute Massage Cream ($125, barneys.com).
... Mario Badescu Control Cream ($17, mariobadescu.com) makes short work of any would-be face invaders.
Green Juice
Using a Breville juicer, Martha makes a six-ounce glass of fresh juice with organic produce from her farm. Spinach, cucumber, ginger, parsley, chervil, and orange peel are standard ingredients. Depending on what's in season, she might add papaya, mango, or pear.
Lemon Water
Martha drinks her first glass of water at 5 a.m., and throughout the day a carafe of H20, often with lemon, is within reach. There is no target amount she seeks to consume daily; rather, she lets her body dictate the quantity she takes in.
Mint Tea
If you see Martha holding a teacup, it likely contains a brew of mint leaves -- no sweetener.
Using a very warm washcloth and either Susan Ciminelli Algae Deep Cleanse ($65, susanciminelli.com) or ...
... Chanel Sublimage Essential Comfort Cleanser ($95, chanel.com), she wipes makeup from her face, neck, and decolletage, and, if she's been on camera, her arms.
Martha reaches for one or more of her daytime serums: SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic, Mario Badescu Vitamin C Serum, or BioEffect EGF. But also up for consideration is Yonka Advanced Optimizer ($170, dermstore.com), a cream/serum duo.
Depending on how rich a cream her skin needs -- determined by various factors (such as whether she had wine) -- Martha opts for either Yonka Pamplemousse ($56, dermstore.com) ...
