Project

July 4th Paper Lanterns

Give paper lanterns a Fourth of July makeover.

Introduction

To create a cascading star pattern, as shown here, cluster stars close together at the top of the lantern and paste stars farther apart toward the bottom. Hang the lanterns in a group for maximum impact. When the party's over, fold them up and tuck them away for next year's celebration.

Materials

  • White glue
  • Paintbrush
  • Tissue paper
  • Crepe paper
  • Streamers
  • Chinese lanterns

Steps

  1. Step 1

Accordion-fold tissue paper several layers high, and punch with a star punch. (A single sheet will tear under the weight of the punch.)

  2. Step 2

Combine 1 part white glue with 1 part water.

  3. Step 3

Brush glue mixture on the lantern; attach stars. Brush another layer of the glue mixture on top.

  4. Step 4

Attach a single 24-inch strip of crepe paper to the lantern by twisting it around the bottom wire of the lantern.

@Kelly, nice. Keel it up! I liked your suggested site justartifacts.net
Thanx for sharing here. The above hand-made lantern is also good.

What an easy way to create a paper lanterns. Liked a lot. After that I also tried to make it on my own at my home but I could not make it properly :-(.
Then I decided to have it from www.justartifacts.net
But I will try to make it again for sure.
