Use this Applesauce to make baker John Barricelli's Apple Pizza.

  • Yield: Makes 2 1/4 cups

Source: The Martha Stewart Show, March 2012

  • 3 pounds Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and coarsely chopped
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • Pinch of coarse salt
  • Pinch of sugar

  1. Place all ingredients and 1/2 cup water in a medium saucepan. Cook over medium-high heat, until apples are very soft, breaking up apples with a fork, about 25 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature. Applesauce may be stored in an airtight container, refrigerated, for up to 3 days.
