Leather Fringed Wool Wrap
Get cozy with a no-sew wrap that's sure to warm you up on cool winter nights with this how-to from TV crafter Kristin St. Clair.
- Woven Wool Fabric
- Quilting ruler
- Screw punch
- Leather laces
Begin with a 13-inch by 60-inch piece of tightly woven wool fabric.
Using a clear quilting ruler as a guide, measure in 1/4 inch from both the side and the end of the fabric. With a screw punch fitted with the smallest bit, punch a hole at this measurement.
Continue punching holes along the end of the scarf every 1/2 inch, being sure to stay 1/4 inch in from the edge of the fabric. Do this for both ends of the scarf.
Cut fifty 24-inch lengths from a roll of 3/16-inch wide leather laces.
Fold 4-inch piece of wire in half to create a “needle.” Fold first leather lace in half around bend in wire.
Insert wire “needle” into first hole in fabric and pull about 2 inches of leather lace through hole.
Remove wire from leather lace and be sure that cut ends of lace are even with each other.
To create tassel, with suede side of leather lace facing upward, insert cut ends through loop and gently pull to tighten.
Repeat process for all remaining holes and laces.
