Colorful Paint Accents

Martha Stewart Living, March 2012

Both color lovers and commitmentphobes will love these high-glamour, low-profile paint ideas. First, pick an accent shade; then use it to trick out an unexpected spot. The back of a medicine cabinet or a drawer's interior are inspired areas to use a new hue if you're not ready to paint a whole wall. You could also coat the edges of a floating bookshelf or a curtain rod for a touch of out-in-the-open color. We chose semigloss in punched-up pastels for this project, since they lend visual interest but still blend with existing furnishings, but you could easily brighten up your accent palette.

Paint: Bookshelf: Peachy Keen, Curtain rod: Martha Stewart Living Paint, in Mimosa, Drawer interior: Springtime Peach, Medicine cabinet: Martha Stewart Living Paint, in Muscari,

Wow that is a cool way to do interior painting for small projects that really enhance the inside of a home and make small spaces fun.
