Glittered Hurricanes

Sparkling subtly in daylight and flashing brightly as night falls, these tree-and-deer-etched hurricane lanterns will transform any room into a magical setting.

Tools and Materials

  • Tree and deer template
  • Glass hurricane
  • Tape
  • White craft glue and applicator
  • Fine clear-glass glitter or basic glitter
  • Birch tree slice or cake stand
  • Candle

Glittered Hurricane How-To

  1. Print tree and deer template, enlarging to fit into your glass hurricane lantern.
  2. Roll up the template and slide it inside the hurricane, with the design facing outward. Tape at top to secure. Using the fine tip of an applicator bottle, outline one section of the design with white craft glue and fill it in.
  3. Sprinkle with glitter. Let glue dry; shake off excess glitter. Glue and glitter the next section of the design. Continue all the way around to complete the design. Remove template. Set hurricane on a birch-tree disk or cake stand and place a candle inside.

Dawn, for what it is worth, I did find it at our Michael's. Were you able to download the template? How?! I've signed in but can't download any templates.
