Glittered Fruit Ornaments

Turn your Christmas fir into a whimsical fruit tree with a dried-fruit ornament how-to from the sisters of the Letter 4 blog.

  • Oven
  • Knife
  • Citrus fruit
  • Glitter
  • Mod podge or white glue (optional)
  • Brush (optional)
  • Ribbon
  • Brads (optional)

  1. Step 1

Preheat oven to 200 degrees. While oven is heating, slice fruit into 1/4-inch slices.

  2. Step 2

Once oven is heated, place fruit slices directly onto oven rack and bake for 2 to 2 1/2 hours, turning slices once halfway through baking.Tip: If slices begin to brown at all, they are done and should be removed from the oven immediately.

  3. Step 3

Carefully remove slices from oven and sprinkle both sides of each with glitter. They should be just tacky enough to hold the glitter. If slices are very dry, brush with a bit of mod podge or white glue and then glitter.

  4. Step 4

Place slices on a drying rack and let dry completely.

  5. Step 5

Once dried, attache a loop of ribbon to each slice using more glue or a small brad.
