Citrus-Herb Seasoning Salt

Have This on Hand: A blend of bold flavors adds speedy savor. Make a double batch and give half to a lucky recipient.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup coarse salt
  • 2 tablespoons finely grated lemon zest
  • 4 teaspoons dried rosemary
  • 3 teaspoons dried thyme
  • 3 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon red-pepper flakes

Cook's Note

Store in an airtight container, up to 3 months.

Quick Ideas for Seasoning Salt

Rub onto chicken, pork, or fish before baking.

Toss with warm roasted nuts as a snack.

Sprinkle over balsamic vinegar and extra-virgin olive oil to make a dipping sauce for bread.

Use as a topping for popcorn.

Combine with cream cheese and Greek yogurt and serve as a dip with pita wedges or crackers.
