Chocolate Tree

Wrapped chocolates are a tasty adornment for your tabletop tree; at holiday's end, these decorations turn into bite-size treats.

  • Foam cone
  • Tinsel garland (an 18-inch tree uses about 36 feet of garland)
  • Pearl-head pins
  • Chocolate squares of choice, still in wrapper (an 18-inch tree uses about 48 squares or approximately 3 bags)
  • Craft knife
  • Chocolate squares packaging
  • Ruler or straightedge
  • Scissors
  • Bamboo skewer
  • Tape

  1. Step 1

Begin by wrapping foam cone with tinsel garland until completely covered. Pin one end of garland to bottom edge and turn cone while wrapping. Secure in place with pins as needed.

  2. Step 2

Using straight pins, attach chocolate squares to cone, starting at bottom edge and continuing to top in a spiral pattern.

  3. Step 3

To create spray for top of tree, use a craft knife and straightedge to cut packaging into 1/4-inch strips.

  4. Step 4

Use scissors to curl strips and attach to bamboo skewer with tape.

  5. Step 5

Finish tree by inserting end of skewer into top of foam cone.

This is truing out beautiful, but it does require previous crafting knowledge! It will go perfect with the christmas chocolate crunch tress my husband and the kids are making.

Love this idea. Already got started, does require previous crafting experience. This will go great with the chocolate crunch christmas trees my husband and the kids are worked on in the kitchen!

Has anyone made these since the show aired last year? Just wondering if all the sizes are correct before I invest in all of the supplies. Thank you!

Is the length of the garland for one tree correct? 36 feet for an 18" tree?
