  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • 2 cups uncooked white rice
  • 1 teaspoon salt


  1. Put olive oil in a heated pan. When it shimmers, add garlic and cook until lightly toasted. Add rice and salt, stir until lightly toasted, then cover with 3 cups of water.

  2. Bring to a boil and then let rice simmer, covered, for 20 minutes.
