Use new, vintage, or unused buttons of all shapes and sizes to make your own stunning jewelry. 

There's no need for gold or diamond necklaces when you can craft beautiful pieces with abalone-shell or pink mother-of-pearl buttons in this craft demonstrated by Martha's niece Sophie.

Custom cuff links for less than 15 bucks? It just takes a pair of buttons and a little epoxy to outfit your dapper gent in bespoke bling.

Collect pretty buttons and string them on elasticized cords to create stretchy bracelets that you can wear yourself or swap with friends.

Top Left: Attach jump rings (small metal rings) to a corded button and an antique glass bead to create the earring's dangling pieces. For the third element, cut a piece of thread, and run one end through a seed bead, then push the two thread ends up though a bugle bead. Thread another seed bead over both ends, and tie ends to a jump ring. Slide all three jump rings onto a ball-end earring wire. Punch ball closed with fingers or round-nose pliers. Knot gold embroidery floss around wire.

It's hard to believe these glitzy bangles began as humble paper-towel tubes. Prepare for the party by slicing the tubes into rings with a utility knife. Wait until kids are finished decorating with paper cutouts, feathers, and buttons before you snip the rings open for wearing -- gluing is easier when they're still intact.

These handsome cuff links are actually metal shank buttons we had engraved. You can also sew the fancy buttons in place of plain ones on a shirt or jacket. 

With needle-nose pliers, open a jump ring and slip it into a button; close the ring with pliers. Repeat with other button, but before closing it, link it to the ring on the first button.

Second to bottom: Stitch seed and bugle beads along the edges of cotton-webbing base. For beaded stripes, cut strips of twill tape as long as bugle beads and as wide as the webbing base. Apply a generous amount of Magna-Tac glue to each tape strip, and then apply the bugle beads in a tight row by hand. Let dry; glue the strips onto the cotton webbing, and secure with a few stitches through some of the bugle beads. Stitch on crystal buttons between beaded stripes.
