This globe-shaped incubator is teeming with eight-legged babies. Make several sacs and suspend them at various heights.

Materials

  • 1 foam egg
  • White batting
  • 1 white stocking
  • Plastic spiders in various sizes
  • Hot glue gun
  • Pushpins or adhesive hooks

Steps

  1. Step 1

To make each egg sac, wrap a foam egg in white batting.

  2. Step 2

Pull a white socking over the ball.

  3. Step 3

Position smaller plastic spiders inside, between batting and stocking; hot-glue larger ones on the outside.

  4. Step 4

Hang from ceiling using pushpins or hooks.

Alot of the stores have plastic spiders, but they are in all other colors but black. I just bought some $.98 black spray paint from Walmart and spay painted my dollar store spiders:)

You can also find plastic spiders usually at the Dollar Store alone or with the spider web material this time of year if not at Party City and they even have spider web pkgs.at Walmart,Target or Kmart that have glow in the dark spiders in the packaging with the webbing.

I like your idea of a glow stick, loganalexa. Haven't tried it yet, though. I think the sack looks lit up because of the little spiders being covered by the white stocking.

Possibly a black light to illuminate the sac??

Okay, but this thing looks like it lights up, but nowhere in the instructions is there anything put inside that lights up. Would a foam egg light up if you put a glow stick inside of it??

Oh, and DanniBR727, I found some small spiders today at Party City. If you have on in your area, check there. They just started putting out their Halloween stuff.

I love these and want to make them! I have everything I need except for the small spiders. I can't seem to find them anywhere except on Amazon, and the shipping is way too high. Does anyone know where I can find them?
