Leather-Wrapped Handles

Introduction

Homemade or high-end? No one will be able to tell when you dress up a basic cabinet pull with leather tape.

First, remove the pull from the door. Wrap a length of leather tape once around the top of the handle. Using an upholstery needle and a heavy-duty cotton thread, stitch a few times at the edge, on the back side of the handle, to hold in place. Spiral the leather down around the rest of the pull, overlapping about 1/2 inch. At the bottom, fold the leather so it's flush with the pull. Cut away any excess, and stitch several times in the back to anchor it in place.
