Emily Rafferty, the first female president of New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art, has an impressive resume of accomplishments, not the least of which was raising more than $100 million to restore the Met's Engelhard Court, which reopened in 2009.

She has given private tours of the museum to the major icons of our time, including Princess Diana and U2's Bono. The afternoon following Bono's visit, Emily received a hand-delivered note from the singer, detailing how he had spent his life being looked at, and how she had given him the most extraordinary opportunity; for two hours, he was the one who could do the looking.

Emily's advice for young women pursuing a career is to find something that they really love doing: "Unless you can do that, it would be very hard to sustain the kind of learning that you need to continue to do to grow and to find your way into these leadership positions."
