Summer Essentials: Day at the Beach

Make the most of a trip to the beach by packing the basics -- and a few safety items to alleviate unnecessary stress, and in turn, ensure a successful expedition.

Bring clothes and an umbrella for shade, and always supervise children, regardless of swimming ability, while they are in the water. Inflatable flotation devices are not enough because they can slip away or puncture. Also, apply sunscreen with a Sun Protection Factor (SPF) of at least 30 thirty minutes before kids step outside and every thirty minutes thereafter. Here's all your kids need for a day at the beach.
