Project

Bandanna Picture or Mirror Frame

Introduction

This is essentially a decoupage project, only you're gluing down fabric instead of paper.

Materials

  • Picture or mirror frame (Pictured: Custom mirror and frame, skyframeinc.com)
  • Navy-blue open-center square bandannas, bandanaman.com
  • Foam brush
  • Decoupage adhesive, such as Mod Podge

Steps

  1. Step 1

Measure the depth and width of each side of frame. If working with a picture frame, remove glass from frame.

  2. Step 2

Cut bandanna borders to fit frame sides. For flat frames: Cut fabric into a 6-sided shape for each side, leaving enough fabric to wrap around the inside of the frame; make 2 snips in the top edge, as shown, so you can fold that edge into the frame's opening. For recessed frames: Cut a piece to fit each side (fraying won't be a problem).
